FRIENDS OF THE RODEAR

Friends of The Rodear is a community of support for women artists and makers, and the Sallie Knowles Joseph Scholarship. Join us in carrying this work forward and strengthening a Western creative community rooted in mentorship and shared traditions.

A New Thursday Evening at The Rodear

This year, we are opening The Rodear with an intimate Thursday evening gathering designed to welcome guests into the spirit of the weekend.

Limited to 50 guests, the evening brings together a private gallery opening, a chef-prepared dinner, wine, music, poetry, and stories shared around a common table.

At the heart of the evening, Chef Adele Nash and Winemaker Haley Wight help shape a hospitality rooted in place—setting the tone for a shared table, new friendships, and a warm beginning to the weekend.

Adele Nash is a fifth-generation rancher and chef rooted in Northeast Oregon, where her cooking is shaped by the seasons, the land, and the people who steward it. She works closely with local farmers and ranchers, bringing a deep respect for ingredients and a straightforward, thoughtful approach that lets them speak for themselves.

Known for creating meals around a shared table, Adele cooks with a sense of generosity and intention, meals that invite connection, conversation, and a feeling of belonging. Her work resonates with those who value craft, place, and purpose, offering an experience that is both grounded and quietly refined.

Haley Wight has been making cabernet since 2006, just one year after she fell in love with winemaking as a harvest intern in a rustic cellar on the top of Spring Mountain in the Napa Valley.  She is the daughter of a mother raised on a cattle ranch in Yountville and a father raised on his family’s Lewelling Ranch in St. Helena.

Haley’s hands have always been in the soil, whether working as a backcountry ranger, a farm worker, or a winemaker, she has felt connected to the land and it’s beauty.  She is honored to continue her family’s farming legacy in the Napa Valley and strives to make balanced and beautiful wines.

THE RODEAR 2026 POSTER REVEAL

We’re honored to introduce our 2026 Rodear poster artist, Gina Teichert, whose work brings together the worlds she knows best—horses, landscapes, and the visual language of classic Western imagery. Raised on a working cattle ranch in Nevada and now based in Napa County, Gina blends ranch life and contemporary art with a style that feels both nostalgic and new.

Gina Teichert puts the country in wine country with her pop infused paintings featuring horses, cowgirls, and the landscapes they call home. Taking inspiration from vintage advertising, Teichert has been tapped to create posters and engaging public art for rodeos, music festivals, and non-profit programs across the west.

Raised on a working cattle ranch in Nevada, Teichert moved to San Francisco to study painting at the Academy of Art University, and melds those two worlds with her genre-bending work. She served in the education department at San Francisco Museum of Modern Art before moving to rural Napa County in 2020. Today, Teichert curates shows in independent spaces and small museums while maintaining a studio practice and volunteering with schools and cultural agencies. She is an active arts writer and public speaker who often interviews fellow creatives for art media outlets.

Teichert’s work has been shown at de Young Museum, Cheyenne Frontier Days Old West Museum, West Coast Biennial, Made in California, and Coors Young Guns. In 2018, Alaska Airlines acquired her piece Outerlands for San Francisco International Airport.

With our scholarship program we preserve and support the ongoing legacy of women artists and makers of the West. We’re dedicated to providing a wide range of educational opportunities.
