The Rodear is a gathering celebrating the artistry, stories, and enduring spirit of the American West. What began as a spark of admiration for the women makers and keepers of Western traditions has grown into a living, breathing community—one that honors craftsmanship, uplifts women’s voices, and creates space for meaningful connection.

Held each July in Bridgeport, California—where the high desert meets the Sierra—it’s a place to slow down, swap stories, and reconnect with the spirit of the range. The weekend features music, original artwork, handmade gear, workshops, performances, and a live auction supporting our scholarship fund—all celebrating the living traditions of the West.

We are rooted in respect—for the makers, the land, and the stories that shape us. From shopping for original art to taking part in hands-on workshops, every moment offers a chance to engage with Western culture and creativity.

Our curated exhibitions and workshops are meant to pass along knowledge, offer opportunity, and nurture the next generation of Western women artists through our Sallie Knowles Joseph Scholarship Fund.

Too often overlooked, these women are carving new paths while preserving the old ways. Their grit, grace, and creativity are leaving lasting marks—through their hands, their stories, and their art.

We gather for connection, creativity, and a shared sense of belonging beneath the open sky. The future is full of promise—and The Rodear is a place where that promise takes root, guided by tradition and growing through community.
